Children's Events

Special school holiday sessions

Craft and creation for curious children.

We run these periodically during the school holidays. They're shorter in length than most of our grown-up workshops, and subjects are naturally geared towards younger interests - but we aim for an equal level of quality. Many of the workshop leaders are the same highly accomplished makers and artists who host our adult sessions (all are experienced in working with children, however).

Bring them yourself, or send them along with grandmas, aunties or uncles as an ideal way of spending quality time together.

For accompanying grown-ups we have charging points - retreat to a separate table and get some work done; perhaps some light brunch might help you along with this? Or simply muck in and help your younger ones!

Interesting people with interesting skills...

Makers, artisans, craftspeople, artists... an opportunity to spend time with passionate people! We have guests regularly visit Number 56; join them to hear their stories, pick up tips and generally share in their enthusiasm for what they do.

All very friendly and informal. These sessions generally run in the evenings; coffee and cake is included in the ticket price.

Yarn Club

Monthly at 5pm.

One of our most popular regular events: a very relaxed two-hour teatime/early evening get-together. Bring your current work-in-progress and enjoy a couple of hours knitting and sitting and chatting. Tea, coffee and cake available; always good conversation on tap, or just settle down quietly to escape the hurly-burly of the day.

Yarn Club's an ongoing thing - come to all of them, or just drop in when it takes your fancy - there's no need to book.
